The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services on the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed with regards to the superior range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your superior range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The support stage designed for intervention encounters a high inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it complicated to the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all prospects and raise entry sassa status check to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
